Brazos River Flows
If you are considering fishing the stretch of the Brazos River between Lake Whitney and Waco, the below links will provide more information regarding the river flows.
2114 Gauge
This is the first gauge below the Lake Whitney Dam and is located approximately 8 river miles downstream of the dam - where FM 2114 crosses the Brazos River. It takes approximately 6 -7 hours from the time the Whitney Dam is opened, for the water to reach this gauge. (Updated Hourly)
Brazos Basin River Gauges
This link shows all of the river gauges on the Brazos River. We use it on a daily basis, as checking the flows upriver of Lake Whitney, sometimes help predict if Lake Whitney will release some water and affect the flows on the section of the Brazos River that we fish. (Updated Hourly)
Brazos Basin Reservoir Levels
This link shows all of the reservoir levels on the Brazos River. We check this on a daily basis, especially during the high-flow season. If a lot of water is coming into Lake Whitney and Lake Whitney is at or above 100% full, it is very likely there will be a release out of Lake Whitney. (Updated Hourly)
